From
1996 to 1999 Gunnar Bemert was Head of Productions at
MBC, and as such ultimately in charge of a large production
department producing factual and light TV entertainment
programmes. In year 2000 he produced the Light and Pyrotechnics
Opening Ceremony of the Al-Faisaliah Centre with a budget
of £ 1,7 million.
His
credits include more than 200 productions as well as
theatrical and audio-visual shows, and also published
a number of books. These include co-authorship and all
the photography for the authoritative 'RED SEA CORAL
REEFS', (Routledge Kegan Paul, 1980.)
He
is a Producer and Director with more than 25 years experience
in the television industry. As owner of his own company
for 5 years, he was an experienced cameraman and director.
He started and managed a production company for Saudi
businessmen. He was then employed as a Senior Director
making documentary and corporate films. Since 1992 he
has worked as a Producer specialising in large outside
broadcast productions in America, Europe and the Middle
East.

From
1991 to 1999 he produced all of Middle East Broadcasting
Company's (MBC) 'Special Events' programmes. These ranged
from the first Telethon for Arabic Television, in which
$17 million for the Muslims in Bosnia was raised, to
large outside multi-camera events. Over 38 concerts
featured all the major Middle East artists, in arenas
from Royal Albert Hall, Olympia, Royal Academy of Music
in London, and on locations such as Washington DC, Paris,
Düsseldorf, Essen, Bahrain, Dubai and Abha in Saudi
Arabia. As an Executive Producer he has hired and worked
with many of the top professional crews and facilities
in London, Europe and the Middle East. Gunnar is skilled
in putting together crew and equipment on foreign locations,
and in dealing with tight deadlines for delivering top
quality programmes. Production
of MBC's corporate and commercial videos was also his
direct responsibility.
The
total turnover for 'Executive Specials' was in excess
of £6 million, including some of the more distinguished
MBC projects. This alone has provided 144 hours of Television.
